The Farmington River is about 84 miles long as it runs through Connecticut and a small part of Massachusetts with a total water shed area of 609 square miles. Recent discoveries have unearthed evidence that ancient Paleoindian people lived on its banks and fished the river as far back as 12,5000 years. The waters of the Farmington are also known as a great place to fly fish for trout while also offering large & smallmouth bass fishing found in the warmer pockets of the river.
